Lately we’ve been visiting Subang area quite frequently. Mostly were because PP wanted to meet those buyer for his camera stuffs. This time round, he wanted to buy a camera lens instead. Before meeting the seller, we had our dinner at Asia Cafe, located at SS15, Subang Jaya. Asia Cafe is a very big foodcourt with a variety of food stalls. A lot of choices for you to pick from.

PP heard from his colleague that the chinese ramen is good. You can actually see them making the ramen and dumplings at the stall. Its just like those workers at Dragon-I. PP ordered a bowl of chinese homemade ramen and dumplings with soup. The ramen comes with vegetable and some minced meat. Soup is good, but however the noodle is a bit too soft. Think they’ve cooked it for too long. As for the dumplings, the skin is a little thick and there’s too much meat in it. They also provide you with chilli sauce made from dried chillies to dip with the dumpling.

As for me, I’ve decided to try something different this time round. I’ve ordered a bowl of vietnamese lemon chicken noodle. Its a healthy bowl of food. Comes with a few types of finely sliced vegetables, peanuts and some pieces of satay flavoured chicken. They also give a small bowl of sweet and sour sauce to pour into your noddle. Pour the souce into your noodle and stir to mix all the ingredients in it. Its a messy meal, but a healthy one. Its not oily at all.

Subang Jaya’s SS15 is a memorable place for PP and I. We’ve spent our first semester of college life there before moving to Nilai. Its been a few years since we’ve last stepped in to that area. Familiar shop like Mee Yoke Lim have already closed down, replaced by new eating places such as Asia Cafe, Salmon Steak Restaurant and etc.

We’ve decided to give this new Salmon Steak Restaurant a try. I had the BBQ Chicken Chop and PP had BBQ Lamb Chop. Both our dishes came with fries, coleslaw and a soft bun. We like its BBQ sauce very much, its sweet and not overly sour. Both our chicken and lamb are tender and juicy.

I think this place is quite famous for its cheap and affordable Western food. Furthermore, they also serve really good set lunch at RM5.00, a very reasonable price. I would highly recommend you guys to try out this place.

The best thing to do on a cold and rainy day is eating bak kut teh. It just warms the stomach. Went to Restoran Ah Ping Bak Kut Teh last night. The shop is located at SS14 area, Subang Jaya. We’ve ordered bak kut teh for 1 pax, vegetable and “you tiao”.

The soup of the bak kut teh was flavourful, perhaps because it had been boiling all day. Its not too thick with herbs and pepper’s smell, its just nice. There’s all sorts of ingredients in the pot of bak kut teh. We have the straw and button mushrooms, fat and lean meats, “fu zuk” and the “internal spare parts”.

The vegetable was not bad, the only thing dissapointing was the rice. They serve it with plain rice, instead of yam rice. Also, we’ve ordered herbal drinks for each of us. It has a strong taste of chrysanthemum and its sweet.
Also, there are some other bak kut teh stalls at this area. PP and I have tried some of them, but we still felt that we should recommend this shop. Food here is good enough, especially for those like us that are lazy to travel all the way to klang for bak kut teh.
