The RT Pastry is located at SS15, Subang Jaya. This shop is not noticable at all, because it looks like any ordinary hometown bakery shop. Surprisingly, it is actually a Japanese bakery shop. The breads in this shop are all very fancy.

PP’s colleague also recommended him a type of bread from here. Its a multi-grain bread, very compact with nuts and grains and also raisin. He asked a colleague to buy and brought it back for me to try out. It is very nice and filling.

I went there again today, wanted to find a japanese bread that PP’s colleague from Singapore gave him. The bread that his colleague gave was a chocolate layered bread, rolled up in a croissant shape. The bread is so soft and rich in chocolate flavor. I’m so addicted to it! Hence, I was hoping to find the same thing at this Japanese bakery shop too. At last, found it, but this shop’s version is not as good. I suppose this is not their specialty.

Also, we’ve bought a slice of their their orange layered cake, yam tart and the multi-grain bread again. And so it happen, this is their anniversary day. We’ve got a 28% discount from the total ammount of purchase. I’m very curious at their soft japanese cheese cake. I think I’ll get a slice of it the next time and review on it.

food: multi-grain bread – RM5, chocolate layered bread – RM3, orange layered cake – RM4, yam tart – RM2.80

On our way back from JB to KL last Sunday, we were thinking what to eat for dinner. Since we will pass by Subang Jaya SS15, we decide to try out K3K which we have passed by numerous times and never give it a try.

Here’s some history about K3K Benta Kaya – an Authentic Experience. After 50′s years of history at Benta, Kuala Lipis, Pahang. Today K3K (Kwai Sam Kee) move forward by setting up branches in the urban area. Kwai Sam Kee’s third generation has churned out numerous delicacies beside serving their villagers with their heirloom of cultured kaya and toast bread, aromatic coffee and tea.

Although moving into the city, the concept of K3K continue to those day back in the 60′s and 70′s where you can feel the authentic New Village kopitiam environment and culture once you step into the shop. From its interior design and wooden furniture until to its kaya buttered steam or toasted bread with a cupper of coffee or tea bring back the good old days of our local original kopitiam back to life again.

K3K offers Free Wifi internet access, no wonder there were many students there with laptops.

We have ordered K3K’s signature dish, K3K Spaghetti, Toast Bread, Dumpling (Chang) with gula melaka and Ice Lemon Tea. As for desert, We have ordered Bubur Cha Cha.

Their K3k Spaghetti is a combination of italy spaghetti and chinese secret spicy chilli paste. Accompany with slices of trio peppers, carrot, onion, cuttlefish, prawn and spinach. The taste is good but the combination of spaghetti with the spicy souce a bit special. However we are quite like it.

As for the dumpling (Chang), perfect match with their famous kaya. You can also ask for gula melaka as well. The dumpling is nice too and not too big portion. Perfect for side dish. However their Bubur Cha Cha is not so good. The sweet potota is not well cook and the soup too sweet. So we are not recommanding this dessert.

Restaurant K3K Kopitiam
Address: A13, Jalan SS15/4D, Subang Jaya
Price: K3K Spaghetti – RM7.80 / Toasted Bread – RM1.80 / Dumpling (Chang) – RM3.30 / Bubur Cha Cha – RM3.50 / Ice Lemon Tea – RM2.50

Still remember that we used to buy some to eat while waiting for the pork noodles to be served. Until now, you can still find that stall over there. They’re selling more and more stuffs, such as the keropok lekor, sweet potato balls, curry puffs, cekodok and etc.

These fried stuffs are best dipped with their specialy made chilli sauce. So, for those who wants tea time snacks, don’t forget to drop by at that stall to buy some.

Wow. Sorry for no updating the blog. I’ve been busy falling sick, doing work and hehehe freelance. PP’s been busy too, falling sick, coughing coughing and non stop of coughing. Just went to the doctor this morning to get his 3rd bottle of cough syrup.

So, both sickly people can only eat clear soupy food. Wanted to get some soup pork noodles. There’s this very nice pork noddles at Subang area. We first had it when we’re still studying at Inti College Subang. We call it the Qui Lin pork noodles. Its because the stall is located at this corner old hotel named “Qui Lin”, a chinese name for “Subang Park Hotel”. The hotel was just recently being replaced with a newer and nicer with glass hotel. So now, this pork noodle stall is relocated to Pomander Restaurant.

PP and I both ordered a bowl of pork noodle each. We usually waited up to 45 minutes for our bowl of pork noodle. Its faster now in this new stall. I think partly its because there’s not so much crowd at this area hence, not much of patrons for that stall. So our purpose here is to help the boss promote his pork noodles. Its real nice. Should try out, and for those who still couldn’t find the place, its still at Subang, SS15 area. It is very easy to locate, look for Pomander Restaurant. (Next to Kwai Sun).

Anyway, back to our pork noodles. Its a bowl full with noodle, vegetables, pork lards, intestines, kidney, minced meat and also lean meat. There’s a lot of minced meat and that makes the soup taste very sweet. Wow, with so much stuffs, its a huge portion for me. Normally I only manage to finish the ingredients but not all the noodle. PP can finish a bowl of large pork noodles. Hehe, its is favourite.

A good fried chicken is one of the factor that makes a good nasi lemak. One of the best that we’ve tasted is located at Bandar Sunway’s foodcourt. This time round, we’ve went to another stall located at SS14, Subang Jaya. The owner of both stalls are related to each other, coz PP once saw the auntie from Sunway is at the Subang Jaya stall. The stall at Bandar Sunway has more dishes for its nasi lemak.

The stall at SS14 starts operating at 4.00pm. Ones the stalls starts to operate, you can see people already queing up for the food. You’ve really gotto be there early if you plan to eat their nasi lemak. Those that plans to go there after working hour, I’m so sorry, its too late for you guys. Basically everybody comes here for their fried chicken and also chee cheong fun.

Both of us ordered a plate of nasi lemak with fried chicken and cabbage. Fried chicken is the best, the skin is crispy and the meat is juicy and tender. The portion is huge too. Our version of nasi lemak is also served with its curry chicken’s sauce. I like their sambal the most, its not spicy, but sweet. It has anchovies and onions in it too. PP loves the cabbage because its cooked until soft and rich in flavour.

Apart from nasi lemak, this stall also serves curry chee cheong fun. The curry sauce is the same that we had for our nasi lemak. Funny thing is, they also order fried chicken to eat together with their curry chee cheong fun. Weird combination. Maybe we should go try it out someday, PP?

Lately we’ve been visiting Subang area quite frequently. Mostly were because PP wanted to meet those buyer for his camera stuffs. This time round, he wanted to buy a camera lens instead. Before meeting the seller, we had our dinner at Asia Cafe, located at SS15, Subang Jaya. Asia Cafe is a very big foodcourt with a variety of food stalls. A lot of choices for you to pick from.

PP heard from his colleague that the chinese ramen is good. You can actually see them making the ramen and dumplings at the stall. Its just like those workers at Dragon-I. PP ordered a bowl of chinese homemade ramen and dumplings with soup. The ramen comes with vegetable and some minced meat. Soup is good, but however the noodle is a bit too soft. Think they’ve cooked it for too long. As for the dumplings, the skin is a little thick and there’s too much meat in it. They also provide you with chilli sauce made from dried chillies to dip with the dumpling.

As for me, I’ve decided to try something different this time round. I’ve ordered a bowl of vietnamese lemon chicken noodle. Its a healthy bowl of food. Comes with a few types of finely sliced vegetables, peanuts and some pieces of satay flavoured chicken. They also give a small bowl of sweet and sour sauce to pour into your noddle. Pour the souce into your noodle and stir to mix all the ingredients in it. Its a messy meal, but a healthy one. Its not oily at all.

Its been a few years since we’ve last stepped in to that area. Familiar shop like Mee Yoke Lim have already closed down, replaced by new eating places such as Asia Cafe, Salmon Steak Restaurant and etc.

We’ve decided to give this new Salmon Steak Restaurant a try. I had the BBQ Chicken Chop and PP had BBQ Lamb Chop. Both our dishes came with fries, coleslaw and a soft bun. We like its BBQ sauce very much, its sweet and not overly sour. Both our chicken and lamb are tender and juicy.

I think this place is quite famous for its cheap and affordable Western food. Furthermore, they also serve really good set lunch at RM5.00, a very reasonable price. I would highly recommend you guys to try out this place.

The best thing to do on a cold and rainy day is eating bak kut teh. It just warms the stomach. Went to Restoran Ah Ping Bak Kut Teh last night. The shop is located at SS14 area, Subang Jaya. We’ve ordered bak kut teh for 1 pax, vegetable and “you tiao”.

The soup of the bak kut teh was flavourful, perhaps because it had been boiling all day. Its not too thick with herbs and pepper’s smell, its just nice. There’s all sorts of ingredients in the pot of bak kut teh. We have the straw and button mushrooms, fat and lean meats, “fu zuk” and the “internal spare parts”.

The vegetable was not bad, the only thing dissapointing was the rice. They serve it with plain rice, instead of yam rice. Also, we’ve ordered herbal drinks for each of us. It has a strong taste of chrysanthemum and its sweet.

Also, there are some other bak kut teh stalls at this area. PP and I have tried some of them, but we still felt that we should recommend this shop. Food here is good enough, especially for those like us that are lazy to travel all the way to klang for bak kut teh.
