Hehe.. Being 11 years together with PP, I think this is our first real late supper! One midnite, while we we’re brewing our HK dramas at home, PP said he suddenly felt very hungry. So, I was jokingly saying, eh, supper? Surprisingly, he say yeah… I wanna eat KL’s beef noodle. Wow, I said. U sure? That’s very far, coz we normally don’t travel for food. He say yeah… but come to think of it… Kepong’s prawn noodle sounds as delicious too.
We’ve finally settled for prawn noodle at Kepong. I think the time that we’re about to go out was 1am. Hehe.. you guys know wat, we’re really not those supper kind of people. We actually yawned all the way from Ara Damansara to Kepong. The prawn noodle shop is called “Hoo Yee Kee”, and it has been in that area for quite some time. Its located by the road side, at the area of other food stalls at Kepong Baru. This shop is very visible as it has a huge prawn as the shop’s landmark.

PP and I both ordered a bowl of prawn noodle for each of us. We’ve also topped up with some other ala-carte dishes such as lala and pork intestines. These 2 dishes are cooked in the same prawn noodle soup, and it tastes sweet. As for the prawn noodle, it comes with vegetable, prawns, bean sprouts slices of pork meat and egg. The soup is quite clear and its not as thick as the one at Chow Yang.

Their noddle noodle and the ala-carte dishes tastes good. Come on over to try it out if you haven’t! This place is real famous for those working night shift at KL and Kepong area.

Talking about NZX at Ara Damansara the other day, we would also like to take the chance to recommend some good food over there. We’ve picked Station 1 Cafe because its packed of people at that day. We felt that the food there won’t go wrong if the restaurant is full of people. Oh and, it has FREE WIFI!
Station 1 Cafe’s style is just like any other Wong Kok or Prince Cafe. I think the only difference here is that they serve beer over here. Hence, this is a good place for people to meet up, chit chat and while they enjoy their beers. No wonder its so packed. This cafe have a number of outlets here at Klang Valley area. They have cafes at Subang Jaya, Puchong, Kuchai Lama and etc etc.

OK, back to the food. The food served here ranges from local malay rice meals, to western to chinese and more. Well, for the first time being here, I’ve decided to try something safe, and ordered a nasi lemak with curry chicken. PP, ordered a spicy fried sauce noodle. We’ve waited for quite some time before being served with the food. I guess they could not cope with the number of orders. Hmm.. should improve on that!
My nasi lemak was served first. The nasi lemak’s fragrant sure makes me more hungry. The curry chicken that’s served with it is just nice, rich in flavor and tender. It also comes with a fried egg, some sambal, ikan bilis and peanuts. This plate of dish also comes with a stick of ota-ota. Hmm.. something new in a plate of nasi lemak.

PP’s noodle tastes good too. Its a little sweet and spicy. The noodle is topped with a dark gravy with minced meats. It also comes with a lot of sliced vegetable and carrot; it certainly looks healthy. The noodle is cooked just right, not too soft and its still has the chewy feel.

Oh, also, Station 1 offers memberships to their patrons. Join their membership and you’ll get to enjoy the benefits such as item redemption, birthday’s special, member’s day special promotion and more. Log on to their website to find out more!

Yes, I know its a little bit late for me to blog about this shop. Who is not familiar about Big Apple Donuts in Malaysia? People often compare it with the JCo Donuts which has lesser chain stores here. Till now, PP and I have not tried any of the JCo Donuts yet. But our house mates and colleagues did have a try at it, and they have the same verdict which is JCo is slightly sweeter than Big Apple. They also said that the dough taste is not as good on the JCo. What do you think?
Well, Big Apple stores are now everywhere, almost all of the big shopping malls. They even have it near my housing area at NZX, Kelana Jaya. Wow. You can check their website for the list of stores, but now I think the site is still under construction.

What I like about this shop is its donuts and PP loves their coffee. Big Apple served ILLY coffee. PP’s all time favorite is the Americano. Their coffee is at an absolutely affordable price and it comes with a free glazed donut. Our favorite donuts are the Alien, Kimochi and also the Glazed one. Their donuts dough are soft and spongy when you bite on it. The flavors are not too strong, and you certainly do get the dough taste out of it. Its not overly sweet, just nice for those who don’t like sweet foods.
For those who have not tried it out, we strongly recommend that you must at try it.
