Went to Mid Valley during the weekend with PP. Since PP rarely comes over to Mid Valley, we’ve decided to try out the new stalls at the lower ground link between Mid Valley and The Gardens. After having coffee at Big Apple Donuts, we are still craving for some snacks. Hence, we stopped by at this “you tiao” shop. Its just right next to the Shih Lin Taiwan Snack shop.
This shop sells all sorts of snack. I think their famous ones are the you tiao with hainan coffee or maybe porridge. Other than that, they also sell stuffs like sesame ball with peanut or red bean, sweet potato ball, yam ball and more.

We’ve ordered 2 bowls of porridge, one with dry scallop and the other with peanut and dry oyster. From the appearance, the porridge looks rather plain to me. But once you taste it, its not bland at all, and you really can find scallops, dry oysters and peanut in it. It goes very well with the you tiao that we’ve ordered.

As for the mix buns, we do like like them that much. I think they’ve had too much flour in the bun and its a little hard when you chew on it. Hmm, it is lacking in the soft spongy feeling. PP likes the sesame ball very much. Its crispy on the outside and the filling is just nice, not too sweet. As for drinks I’ve ordered a soya milk. Don’t like my drink at all. It has a weird taste, it smells and tastes like uncooked soya. Not fragrant at all.

This is one of our favourite spots during weekends. When we feel bored at home, we just grab our laptops and head over to the OldTown White Coffee restaurant at Kelana Mall. Its located at the corner lot of shophouses, right next to Kelana Jaya’s Giant Hypermarket.
What we like so much about this shop is the corner location. The place is windy and its very comfortable for you to sit there while surfing on the internet. This place offers FREE WIFI service. The internet connection here is pretty good and reliable. This restaurant is constantly full of patrons.

PP’s favourite drink at this shop is their coffee, no doubt! If we’re here for long, he’ll normally order two drinks, the Nanyang Memorably and also the original and best OldTown White Coffee. As for me, my favourite is still their ice lemon tea. I cannot find any other that is rich in flavour as theirs. Can even order two glasses of it when I’m there.

As for their food, they serve varieties of rice and noodle dishes. We like the mee rebus very much. Its comes with loads of ingredients and has a little taste of sweetness. PP’s favourite snack is their glutinous rice with kaya. With their delicious food and great service, its worth coming over for a try.

Decided to go out for lunch today. Its been quite sometime since we last went to the pan mee place at Desa Sri Petaling. This place was first introduced by out ex-colleague, AC. This place only serves the soupy stuffs. For those that have not been there before, keep in mind that they don’t sell dry pan mee. The shop is located in the Megan Corporate Business Park, opposite Smart Reader Kids.

What makes their pan mee so nice is actually the soup. Its really rich in taste. The pan mee comes with loads of fried onion, anchovies, vegetable and small cubes of pork meat. What I like the best is the anchovies and vegetable. The other thing that I like is the noodle itself. Its very thin, and you won’t get the feeling of eating thick flour all the time. Food portion is huge too, very worth the amount paid. I only manage to finish three quarter of the bowl. They’ll also give a plate of very spicy chili. Just be careful when your eating with the chili, make sure you don’t choke on it.

Other than pan mee, they also do serve yee mee and soup dumplings. My boss loves the dumpling. Every time we’re there, he’ll sure add 2 of those soup dumplings into his pan mee. For those who like the dumplings fried, they also have it there. So, pan mee fans, head over here to try it out. One thing that I didn’t get this time round is the name of that shop. Didn’t see any shop name over there, but will somehow describe to you guys how to get there.
This is the direction from Sweets for My Sweet Tooth.
From Sg. Besi, go straight along highway until you see a left turning to Desa Sri Petaling. Turn left and go straight, You will see a commercial/business square on your left-hand side. Drive towards that direction (turn left, go straight and then left again to enter the square). The shop is located along the 2nd road inside the square, somewhere in the middle.
One thing you have to take note if you’ve decided to go there during business hours. The car park there is kind of difficult to get, therefore its normal for people over there to double park!
