I’ve had 3 rounds of bak kut teh for the past two weeks. My colleagues are the first who brought me to this bak kut teh shop located at Sungai Way, PJ. Its called Ah Sang Bak Kut Teh. This shop is very easy to find, its located next to an Indian temple and a huge carpark. Its also located opposite the Bintang Supermarket, just off the road of Jalan SS3/39. I’ve decided to bring PP there to try out this newly discovered bak kut teh shop.

This is one of the better bak kut teh stalls that we’ve tasted so far. We’ve ordered a pot of bak kut teh for 2, with mixed pork meat, ribs and liver. We’ve also added straw mushrooms in it. Also, we’ve added a bowl of fried “fu zuk”. We actually wanted a bowl of fried “you tiao” also, but the lady boss told us its finished. Can you imagine, we actually arrived there quite early (around 11.00am) and its already sold out. So make sure you’re there real early if you want to have your bak kut teh with fried “you tiao”.

We like its soup, its thick and rich enough in flavor and herbs taste, but not too much until it becomes bitter. Meat wise, its soft and tender. Other ingredients that comes with this pot of bak kut teh are vegetable, fried “tau pok” and some fried “fu zuk”. One thing I like about this shop is that they have a lot of ingredients for you to mix in the bak kut teh.

I would recommend the readers out there to visit this bak kut teh stall. I think you won’t be disappointed with it. Its usually packed during lunch time in weekdays. Its because this is a factory area, hence they’ll usually have lunch at this shop. I can even see Japanese people lunching here.

This is a pretty good place for BKT in PJ. Mean is tasty and soft. Soup is yummy and the fu chok is shiok. Too bad the Yau Jar Kuei.
