During the times when we’re staying at Damansara Jaya, we usually have dinner at this corner coffee-shop outside our house. Its called Restaurant Yu Yi, a popular spot mainly for KDU students. When it comes to night time, the bak kut teh stall is our favourite during rainy days.
This stall is operated by an uncle, his wife and a maid. The main dish that they serve is bak kut teh. They also do serve pork trotter, chicken feet and other dishes. The dishes are all written there in chinese on the signboard.
The bak kut teh that we’ve ordered comes with vegetables, straw mushroom, button mushroom and pork meat and ribs. The pork ribs and meat in the bak kut teh is the best. Its just nice, tender and not too dry or tough. Soup wise, it’s not those thick type, but rich enough in flavour. They serve rice and fried “you tiao” with the bak kut teh.

This Yu Yi restaurant also have very nice dai chow and western food at night. The dai chow’s fried rice is our housemate’s favourite. As for breakfast and lunch, they serve fried kuey teow, claypot loh shu fun, pork noodle and many more.
