Genki Sushi used to be our favourite sushi place before the opening of Sakae Sushi at The Curve, Mutiara Damansara. This is another chain store that serves japanese food such as sushi, sashimi, ramen, udon, and etc. Upon entering the restaurant, we notice that there’s not much patron. I guess its because of the “puasa” time for the malays. Hence, with not much of people, they also don’t bother to prepare food for the conveyer belt. We will have to order from the menu and they’ll prepare it.
PP’s favourite dish at Genki Sushi is the sakae fish head. Everytime that we’re here we’ll sure be ordering a bowl of that. Its a bowl of soup with a little of sake in it, with fried fish head, tofu and straw mushrooms in it. Its yummy. Can’t find this meal in other sushi chain stores. They also serve the sake fish head with udon too.

We also do order some other sushi as well. To me, their sushi variety is almost like any other restaurants. Upon getting our sushi, i felt that the ingredient they use for the sushi is not fresh at all! I’ve ordered a sushi wrapped with salmon sashimi. The salmon is so miserably thin and its dry. I think this also explains to me why there’s so few people in the restaurant. I think I still like Sakae Sushi the best.

As for drinks, the green tea is served in a powder form. You’ll have to mix it according to your taste. I like it because some people that likes the richness of green tea taste can choose to add more. Overall, this is just another place to have a reasonable priced japanese food. Citibank Clear card holders can enjoy 20% off the bill when you dine in here.
