Retoran Kapitan is one of the first 24 hrs mamak in Ara Damansara. Its one of the eating place that we frequent to for dinner. Kapitan started its business in early 2006. According to the owner of Restoran Kapitan, En. Ameen Mohamed, he said that Kapitan’s specialties are Nasi Lemak, Naan & Tandoori, Satay, Rojak, Kebab. After some time, they manage to get a few people to set up a malay stall in their restaurant. Have more food variety to chose from. They serve nasi goreng, padprik, tomyam, pattaya and etc. Food quality wise, I can say its one of the better ones.

PP ordered a Nasi Goreng Kampung and I’ve ordered a Beehoon Tomyam. I’m a tomyam freak. Just love the sour and spicy taste. Would be better if its a little sweet as well. My beehoon tomyam is just nice. Soup is thick, not overly spicy or sour, and its sweet. Comes with a lot of chicken meat slices too.

PP’s nasi goreng kampung is very nice too. It is prepared with sambal belacan, anchovies, vegetables and eggs. The portion is huge, can be shared among the two of us. Every mouthful of rice is accompanied by fried anchovies. Adds a lot the the flavor of it.

Restoran Kapitan is also equipped with wi-fi service. Now you can surf online while waiting for you food, and its free! This is a happening spot that you must go.

Been to Pattaya a couple of times now, first time was in January 2000, then back at New Year 2006. What a phenomenal holiday place! It provides for everyone: if your searching for friendly locals there is masses of them, if you want good thai food there is plenty and night life is rich. If you want a low-cost holiday, you can have it – if you need a pricy holiday, you can have it as well. My girlfriend is totally in love with the place and has just bought into a hotel over there. My children love it as well. What a fantastic place to celebrate New Year!
