Hokkien mee is one of PP’s favourite food. A friend recommended us to this shop at Uptown / Damansara Utama. They started out with a small stall in a shophouse facing LDP. Their business got better and they shifted to the current shop location, which is the shoplot located opposite Damanansara Uptown open air carpark, next to Uptown 1.

PP ordered a Hokkien mee while I had a Cantonese fried kuey-teow. The food’s serving is just nice for both of us. Hokkien mee comes with small bits of crispy lard. Its a recommendation that you take the noodle together with their homemade sambal. Its simply yummy! As for my cantonese fried kuey-teow, there’s a lot of chopped garlic in it. It simply beefs up the taste of the food. Very nice, I recommend it too. Oh.. must take with the pickled green chilis too.

At the same shop, there’s this uncle that sells roast duck. We’ve ordered a plate for ourselves as well. The meat is just nice, not too tough. You’ll have to dip it with the chili and sour plum sauce that’s provided. His ducks are very fast selling. By the time our food is served, I can say about 9.30pm, the uncle is already preparing to close his stall. Shows how tasty the duck is. PP thinks its better than the ducks at Restaurant Sunrise, Sea Park.

Philip, got a place to recommend you for Hockkien mee, better than the one uptown. Surprising thing is that it is fried by an indian man and tastes the best so far. It’s at Damansara Kim, same row as super tanker restaurant… it is a pub called ONLINE. RM10 per person. Also another must try is their pepper mutton with toast bread.

Nice write up on the new mecca for Hokkien Mee, UPTOWN
With at least THREE shops dedicating their services to Hokkien mee, last I checked!
